The Sanctuary’s mission statement is:
To educate and promote kindness through compassionate care and understanding of potbelly pigs.
Sweet Acres lives and breathes this mission statement. Potbelly pigs are taken into their protection and given a peaceful, safe, and healthy life, often after being removed from terrible circumstances. The gates of the Sanctuary are regularly opened to the public so all can meet the residents and understand the particular needs that they have. It is the Rescue’s greatest hope that people will see how potbelly pigs depend on dedicated and loving care. It is also the Rescue’s hope that visitors will understand how harmful an indifferent, uneducated or intolerant dwelling can be.
